About Us
Seoul Sports Council(SSC) is one of several leading organizations regarding sports in the Republic of Korea and is an organization that promotes sports in Seoul.

SSC was founded in 1953 before the end of the Korean War as a testament to its acknowledgment regarding the importance of sports. Beginning in 1954, SSC served as the regional chapter of Seoul in accordance with the bylaws of the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee. Over the past 60 years, SSC has played a central role and contributed immensely to the development of sports in Korea to the point where today, Korea is recognized as a leading competitor in sports throughout the world. Such efforts are evidenced in the fact that South Korean athletes could achieve outstanding results in international events such as The Olympics and Asian Games – events that merited South Korea recognition as a global top 10 competitor of sports.
SSC has also largely contributed to expanding the basis for greater athletic activity among citizens of the Seoul and has served as the foundation for the development of athletic activity in Seoul. SSC has continued operations as a non-profit organization. Through its inaugural assembly in February 2016, SSC was born by integrating the operations of two separate organizations responsible for handling professional sports and sports-for-all.
